About

Saghar Amozgar
Ayurvedic Specialist
My name is Saghar (Tahereh, Nasrien) Amozgar, and I am of Persian origin. I came to the U.K. in 2000 after completing eight years of study in India.
As a child, I was always curious about human behaviour, philosophy, and religion. My father was a great thinker, and my mother was spiritual, which fueled my curiosity. I completed my first degree in psychology at Tehran University and continued my studies in India. While enlisting for a PhD in "Stress and Coping Strategies" in India, I discovered a passion for yoga, meditation, and traditional Ayurvedic massage.
I had the privilege of studying Ayurvedic Yoga Massage under the expert guidance of Swami Varidi, who trained under the renowned Kusum Modak. I qualified in Pune in 1999 and continued to work closely with Swami Varidi, helping to organize his courses
in Europe and assisting with their delivery in the U.K. I was fortunate to study in Pune City, near the Iyengar ashram.
My learning about yoga continued with my 2004 qualification from the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Kerala, India. Since then, I have taught numerous classes at Muslim women's community centres, children's classes, and open classes for all.
In 2017, I began studying Ayurvedic principles and incorporating them into my daily life under the guidance of Cate Stillman, which led to my certification as a well-being coach.
In 2004, I established the Ayurvedic Yoga Association to guide a global community towards thriving in body, family, and community through yoga and Ayurvedic teachings. I provide therapeutic work for individuals and run regular workshops and professional training courses for practitioners.
My ultimate goal is to spread this wonderful ancient technique around the globe. I am deeply grateful to all my teachers who helped me find my path, and I am committed to sharing my knowledge.
